In more severe level, you may experience sore throat, bloody vomiting, and dry cough.

Some people simply experience acid reflux symptoms more easily than others, so the solution is to reduce the possibility of experiencing it. Here are some things you can do:
- Avoid foods that can trigger heartburn and eat in smaller portions in a day rather than three big meals.
- Use higher pillows to sleep so your head is raised 4-6 inches from the bed.
- Reduce some weight, but do not rush it. Use healthy eating patterns and exercise.
- Eat while sitting straight on the chair and avoid sleeping after eating.
- Enjoy your meal; chew slowly and avoid eating in a rush.
- Avoid eating while wearing tight belts or clothes.
Also, you may want to discuss with your doctor about certain medications that may trigger your condition. This way, at least you can reduce the amount of nausea, vomiting and heartburn you experience after eating.
